The
Sundowner Inn is a charming hotel and restaurant located in the coastal
community of Garden Bay on the north shore of Pender Harbour. The beautifully
restored post-and-beam building was constructed in 1929 as the original
St. Mary's Hospital. As a base for the Columbia Coast Mission Boat Fleet,it served the physical and spiritual needs of the local residents, and the coastal inhabitants from Sechelt to Alert Bay, until the mid-1960s. Historic artifacts, as well as artwork and crafts from local artisans, are on display throughout the Inn.
